Nir Liebling, Managing Director
Mr. Liebling has worked in the real estate industry for over 15 years with a focus on hospitality and investments. Mr. Liebling joined Edge in July 2018 as Managing Director in the San Francisco office. Prior to joining Edge, from 2011 to 2018 Mr. Liebling served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Waterton Hospitality, a real estate investor and property management company with over $4 billion in real estate assets under management. At Waterton Mr. Liebling oversaw the entire hotel investment process from sourcing, acquisition, disposition, joint venture and financing. While at Waterton, Mr. Liebling executed on over $300 million in hotel acquisitions, refinancing and dispositions with Edge as its limited partner. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Liebling led transactions at the Chartres Lodging Group where he executed on over $1 billion of hotel transactions across major US metro markets including Hawaii, Dallas, Denver and Chicago. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Liebling served as Senior Manager for CNL Hotels & Resorts where he was involved in several large scale resort acquisitions, non-core portfolio dispositions and numerous financial/public market strategic initiatives. Mr. Liebling began his hotel career working for Pacific Islands Club on the island of Saipan and began his investments career at Ernst & Young’s real estate and advisory group Los Angeles office where he assisted owners, financial institutions and developers with numerous feasibility studies, debt underwriting and various advisory assignments. Mr. Liebling graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami, Florida with a B.B.A in 1995. He earned an M.M.H degree from Cornell University in 2001 and an M.B.A from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2011.
